BitBuilder is a tool for stand-up comedians to write material, build setlists, and track performances. It is built to keep your work private. BitBuilder has no accounts, runs no servers of its own, and does not use any advertising or analytics or tracking SDKs. This policy explains the data the app handles and where it goes.
Everything you create — bits, ideas, setlists, recordings, show logs, club notes — is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud account (Apple iCloud / CloudKit), which only you can access. We never receive a copy of it.
With your permission, BitBuilder records audio so you can capture sets and voice notes. Recordings are saved on your device (and your private iCloud, if enabled). They are not uploaded to the developer or any third party.
When you transcribe a voice note, BitBuilder uses Apple's Speech Recognition. Depending on your device, audio may be processed by Apple to perform the transcription, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer does not receive your audio or transcripts.
If you grant location access, BitBuilder uses your approximate location only while you are using the app to suggest the nearest comedy club when you save a recording. Your location is used on-device for that suggestion and is not stored on any server or shared. You can decline or revoke this at any time in iOS Settings.
BitBuilder can label the lines of a bit (setup, punchline, tag, and so on). This runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device intelligence. The text of your bits is never sent to the developer or any third-party server for tagging — it stays on your phone.
BitBuilder is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
